- Choose A Topic: First and foremost, you need to decide what it is that you are going to write about. You want to stick to a general topic for your blogs. Think about what your interests are, and what you enjoy learning about. The more you know and learn about a subject, the more that you have to share about it. You want to create new and unique information that will set you apart from the other bloggers out there. If you don’t love it, then you’re not going to stick with it.
- Find A Platform: There are a number of great platforms out there for you to choose from. A classic one to start with is WordPress. You can’t go wrong with WordPress, but you can also look to other sources like Tumblr, Blogger, Joomia, and more. Click through and see how each one is different to see which style you like the best. Some platforms are membership based, and others are free. Make sure to understand all of the details before you start creating your blog.
- Design The Layout: Most platforms have templates for you to choose from. You can select a blog template to start your writing journey. You don’t have to be a design expert to have a elegantly-styled blog. You can change the colors and add in unique photos to make your blog yours. The goal is to come up with as much original content as possible to make you successful online.
- Publish It: The next step is to buy a unique url and to find a place to host it. You can come up with a clever name that describes what you are talking about, or you can keep it simple. For example, if you are a fitness professional, you can name your site “Running Late Is My Cardio”. It’s funny, and will make it stick in people’s heads. Another route to go is something more professional. If you are an artist looking to promote your work, something like, “Art by Abby” would be better suited for you.
- Stay Committed: The single most difficult thing is to stick with it. You’ve created it, and now you’re ready to go. You wrote one or two blogs, but now you are out of ideas. Stay motivated by setting goals for yourself. Dedicate one hour three days a week to sit down and write. Spend some of that time brainstorming ideas that you want to write about. Read other articles that are related to your topics to get more ideas. Keep learning and keep writing.
