Ideas to Spruce Up Your Bathroom

Apartment Living
When it comes to sprucing up your home, you probably think about starting with your living room or bedroom. They’re the obvious choices. But you shouldn’t neglect the bathroom. This often-overlooked room could probably use a little love and attention. And, while it may be a small space, there is a lot you can do with this room. If you’re looking for some ideas, here are a few for you.

Clean the Grout

Grout is the paste that is used to fill the gaps between wall and floor tiles. While your tile may be in good shape, after time, grout can begin to look dirty and dingy. By giving your grout a good cleaning, you can immediately brighten your bathroom. You can mix a simple cleaning solution at home and have your grout looking good in no time.

Recaulk Around the Tub/Shower

Another area of your bathroom that can look dirty and worn after time is the caulking around your tub and/or shower. Mold is usually the culprit for making your tub caulk look dirty, but you can recaulk the area in about 4 hours. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how this small investment in time and money can make your bathroom look refreshed.

New Shower Head

With all of the cool shower heads available today, there’s no need to stick with the standard one you probably currently have installed. There are lots of different styles available such as a single spray or a rain system or a handheld spray system. Decide which one you’d like, and you’ll find this is a quick and easy project.

Vinyl Floor Cloth

One area that people often don’t like about their bathroom is the flooring. Of course, when you’re living in an apartment, you may think that you have no choice but to accept what you are given. But there are options. You could go with a large bathroom rug, but if you’re looking to make a big change consider vinyl floor cloth. These lay over your current flooring and can be custom ordered to fit your bathroom.

Paint

Paint is another great way to change up your bathroom. You can easily paint all of the walls in this small space or consider an accent wall to highlight a color you love.

New Shower Curtain

There’s no need to have a boring shower curtain with all of the options available to you today. You can find shower curtains in practically every color and tons of different designs. Find one that reflects your style and make it a focal point in your bathroom.

Additional Storage

Every bathroom could probably use some additional storage. With space limitations, you may have to get a little creative. Think about what you can do over the commode. Or, can you use a bar cart to provide open storage? New shelving can also be added to open spaces. Find storage that works with your space and design intentions.

Art

Look to add some art to your bathroom walls, too. One larger piece of art may work in a bigger area, or for smaller areas, consider a grouping of smaller frames. While you can find great art at many stores, you can also print various images at home and frame them yourself. This will allow you to find exactly what fits your style.

Plants

With your bathroom being a space with lots of moisture, many plants will love the environment. Find plants that can work with the light available in your bathroom and add them to this space to create a really spectacular room.

Sprucing up your bathroom is a quick and easy project. Implement a few of these ideas, and you can have a refreshed and fabulous space by the end of the weekend.
