When summer comes to Las Vegas, it can get hot...really hot. And when you have the kids home from school you might be thinking to yourself, “What can we do today that will keep the kids entertained and not have us baking in the Las Vegas sun?” 
     
This summer there are plenty of things you can do with the kids that will have them smiling and you thankful for the air conditioning. 
     
Dave & Buster’sKids love Dave & Buster’s for all of the great games they can play while parents love it for the adult beverages, sports on the television - and the fun games they can play. Be sure to check out their weekday specials for some discounts - Wednesdays are ½ price games (with some restrictions) all day!
     
Las Vegas Natural History Museum:With some great exhibits like “Treasures of Egypt” and “Dinosaur Mummy CSI” - kids will LOVE this museum. There is so much to see and do at this museum that you may find you spend the entire day here! 
     
Discovery Children’s Museum:Another great museum that will keep your children completely engaged is the Discovery Children’s Museum. This summer’s traveling exhibit is Top Secret: License to Spy. Your children will find themselves solving a mystery as they enter the secret world of global spies.
     
Shark Reef AquariumLocated at Mandalay Bay, Shark Reef Aquarium offers a lot more than just sharks. Filled with all sorts of sea creatures, this aquarium really wants you to experience ocean life. Be sure to check out the Touch Pool so your children can touch sharks and rays and several other aquatic animals. And remember, Nevada residents get a discount - just show your identification.  
     
MeeplevilleHow about grabbing lunch and playing a board game together? Then head to Meepleville where you can do just that. Meepleville is a board game cafe with over 2000 games and some tasty food. This is a great place to try out new games you may like to buy for home!
     
Ice Skating:There’s probably no place cooler in the summertime than the Las Vegas Ice Center. This summer head there during open skate times to try some ice skating. Be sure to check the schedule before you head that direction as they also hold ice hockey and figure skating lessons throughout the day.
     
Sky ZoneIf your kids have a lot of energy to burn, take them to Sky Zone where they can jump to their heart's content. Be sure they check out the Challenge Zone and the Foam Zone!
     
GlowZoneBumper cars, ropes course, mini-golf and more are all at GlowZone. Be sure to look at their online specials or consider the “All Day Play” year-long pass if this is a regular place that your children like to go.
     
Paint Your Own PotteryHow about some arts and crafts this summer? Then head to All Fired Up! where you and the kids can paint some pottery. The price of your pottery is the price for the entire experience, and most things range between $12 - $25.
